"Stands out for its fun, interactive and deal-scoring features."
Ybor City was the first industrial town in Florida, and is home to Don Vincente Martinez-Ybor’s cigar factory. The factory was the largest brick structure in Florida at the time of its construction, and made a monumental footprint on the landscape that set the tone for centuries to come. Other cigar factories followed suit, helping to create a diverse melting pot culture that still defines Ybor today.

Historic Accommodation at the Heart of Ybor

Make the most of your Ybor City trip by staying in the heart of the historic district. The Don Vincente de Ybor Historic Inn is ideal for visitors who want to immerse themselves in the area’s storied past. Constructed in 1895, this building originally served as the Ybor Land and Improvement Company for Don Vincente himself. It then served as a health care clinic from the turn of the century to 1968.

After three decades of sitting abandoned, the building was purchased, restored, and opened as a historic inn with 16 elegant rooms. With sleigh beds, Persian rugs, and antique chandeliers, the interior of this hotel is as stunning as its views of the surrounding Ybor City Historic District.

Alternatively, stay at the Ybor House Properties*, which are historic vacation rentals constructed between 1895 and 1941. These furnished houses offer all the comforts of home. Or if you prefer the familiarity of a chain hotel, try the Hampton Inn and Suites Tampa/Ybor City/Downtown or the Hilton Garden Inn Tampa Ybor Historic District.

The Busy Calendar of a Lively District

Staying in Ybor City is sure to give you an intimate taste of the area, but it can make it difficult to retreat from the festivities during one of the area’s many celebrations. You’ll find at least one annual event nearly every month, from the Cigar Heritage Party in October to Fiesta Day in February. Check the calendar before your visit.
