Pacific Coliseum, surrounded by beauty, is one of the largest buildings in Hastings Park. This urban park has gorgeous botanical gardens, Miracle Mile, and Playland. But, Pacific Rim catches your eye as well. It hosted short track and speed skating events during the 2010 Olympics. As a result of this, the Coliseum gained in popularity. Today it isn’t just a sporting venue, but sprouts a Farmer’s Market on Sundays, has ice rentals, and Rollerland. To top it off, the price for hockey tickets are less than those to see the Canucks.
If you’re looking for cheap, the Hotel at Waldorf is it. The Atrium Inn Vancouver costs a little more. Stay at Rosedale on Robson Suite Hotel or the Executive Suites Hotel & Conference Centre Burnaby, both equally priced and in the affordable range.
When the game or event is over, Hastings Park lures you in with its beauty. This year-round cultural and recreation habitat offers plenty of things to see and do. Try a bit to eat from the food trucks or try your luck at the horse track. In August the entire park fills up with visitors who enjoy the agricultural fair, concerts, and carnival. It's crowded at that time so if you don't like crowds and your dates are flexible, choose another time.
No seat is a bad seat. Seating is in the round. Season Pass tickets cost about $79 for adults and $42 for those under 48 inches. Pre-register your season pass to skip the long line. Be sure to make your hotel reservations early during big event times.
