Five-Star Luxury in Central Vienna

Grand Hotel is a Grand Hotel

Grand Hotel, constructed in 1870 and renovated in 1994, is a modern hotel with an official five-star rating from Hotelstars Union, a review agency. This property on Ringstrasse Boulevard in the center of Vienna is close to the Vienna Opera House, museums, and churches.  Among the amenities and services are train station pickup and airport transportation (both at a surcharge), limousine or town car service, tours and ticket help, wedding services, and babysitting or childcare (a surcharge applies). Valet parking and self-parking are available for a fee. There are four restaurants, a coffee shop, and a bar/lounge.

Weekend Champagne Brunch

Le Ciel is a gourmet restaurant serving French cuisine with an Austrian influence on the hotel’s top floor. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner. Guests can enjoy the view and dine on the rooftop terrace in warm weather. Grand Café on the lobby level serves traditional Viennese food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant serves champagne brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Unkai, a Japanese restaurant, has two private dining rooms and two Teppanyaki tables. The restaurant serves a sushi brunch on the weekends. Unkai Sushi is a sushi bar serving lunch and dinner.

Vienna Opera House

It is a short walk from Grand Hotel to the Vienna Opera House. Included in the schedule each year are at least 300 performances from 50 to 60 operas and 10 ballets.

Complimentary Wired High-Speed Internet Service

All guest rooms have free wired high-speed Internet access and free Wi-Fi. A popular amenity is high-definition LCD television with satellite service, premium channels, and pay movies. Guests enjoy relaxing in the deep soaking tub in the marble bathroom after a day of sightseeing or business meetings. Other amenities include coffee and tea maker, minibar, bathrobe, slippers, in-room safe, and desk. Cribs and infant beds are available at a surcharge.

The Bottom Line

Grand Hotel in the heart of Vienna is a deluxe five-star property with which there is no comparison. The hotel has four restaurants, deep soaking tubs in the marble bathrooms, a shopping mall, and a spa. Concierge services, room service, and front desk are all available 24 hours. Hotel Sacher Wien, another five-star property, is in the same neighborhood as Grand Hotel. The amenities at both hotels are similar, but the room rates at Sacher Wien are greater than $500 per night, double those at Grand Hotel.

The hotel is located in an early 19th-century building within walking distance of the Ring. The charming Biedermeier house has a quiet inner courtyard and a conservatory restaurant.
