"One of the 50 Websites that make the web great."
"Hipmunk is the best travel site on the Web. Period."
"Stands out for its fun, interactive and deal-scoring features."
“Georgetown’s beauty and long history never disappoint out-of-town visitors.”
A wide variety of lodgings await you during your visit to Georgetown University, depending on whether you’re visiting campus as a perspective grad student, a guest lecturer, or a fan of Hoya basketball. Be advised that Georgetown residents have always voted against having a Metro stop in their beautiful neighborhood, so arriving on time to your speaker series or info session can be an adventure in itself if you’re not staying in the right place. Visitors to the university should stay directly in Georgetown unless sightseeing downtown closer to the White House is another priority for your visit.

More About Hotels near Georgetown University Main Campus...

Perspective Students Should Stay Close to Campus

Overnights at traditional Georgetown Inn starting at $159 per night on Wisconsin Avenue are a Hoya tradition, especially during graduation season. Its perfect location on Wisconsin Ave two blocks north of M Street keeps you within walking distance of the campus for info sessions, yet closer to M Street’s high-end shops and restaurants. A cheaper option is the Holiday Inn Washington-Georgetown for $71. The drawback is that it’s farther up Wisconsin away from the shops.

Guest Lecturers Should Stay in the Leavey Center

Distinguished visitors to the university tend to stay at the Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center in Leavey Student Center, which starts at just under $100 nightly. Note that this hotel will be completely booked if it’s anywhere near commencement season. If you’d rather stay off campus, check out some Airbnb options either behind campus in the peaceful tree-canopied Foxhall neighborhood* or in front of the campus gates in a classic Brownstone* for under $200. Staying in an Airbnb in Foxhall will help you find some inner quiet before your big speech, while opting for an Airbnb brownstone option just east of Georgetown campus will have you staying in an upscale neighborhood teeming with politicians and socialites. The vestigial streetcar tracks are the icing on the cake.

Sports Fans Should Stay over the Key Bridge in Rosslyn

Hoyas fans will want to get to the Verizon Center and spend time with friends on the Hilltop. Keeping in mind the restrictions on public transportation, it may be best to split the difference. Staying just over the Key Bridge in Rosslyn keeps you within sight of the university just across the Potomac. You can meet up with your pals after a short, yet blustery walk across the bridge to Rhino Bar. Come game day you’ll be glad you stayed somewhere like Holiday Inn Rosslyn at Key Bridge at $75 per night, since you’ll be just footsteps from Rosslyn station, where you’ll take the Metro to Gallery Place for the game. Diehard sports fans wanting to stay as close as possible to Verizon Center might consider staying at The Henley Park Hotel on Massachusetts for $99 per night for the ultimate game day convenience. However, keep in mind that the after party will be on the Georgetown campus.

You Can’t Go Wrong Visiting Georgetown

Once you’ve come to terms with the fact that you’re either hoofing it everywhere, hailing a yellow taxi, or using your rideshare apps on your smartphone, you’ll realize that the immediate neighborhood supplies you with everything you need to make your trip enjoyable. Georgetown’s beauty and long history never disappoint out-of-town visitors, and a shopping and gastronomical extravaganza on M Street is sure to please everyone in your group. Save the tourist-style sightseeing for your next trip to DC, and for now, just soak up all the history, politics, and classy style that Georgetown has to offer.
