The Henley Park Hotel: Unique Luxury Hotel in Downtown D.C.

What Makes the Henley Park Unique?

One hundred nineteen gargoyles, stained-glass windows, and period furnishings: you’ll travel back in time. Don’t be fooled by the converted 96-room property though, which used to be the residence of notable congressmen, senators, and other members of high society in the early 1900s. This historic hotel offers modern amenities such as free wireless Internet access, free use of the on-site business center, and in-room spa services. Additionally, guests can enjoy a traditional tea service with moist scones and soothing drinks or sample fine dining at the Tavern at the Henley Park without stepping outside.

What About Location?

This unique luxury hotel is centrally located in downtown, best-suited for travelers attending events at the D.C. Convention Center or those who wish to explore Chinatown, Capitol Hill, and Gallery Place — all steps away. The White House, Verizon Center, and many celebrated restaurants are also within walking distance, while three nearby Metro stations and Circulator bus stops make exploring the National Mall and other D.C. attractions a breeze.

Is It Expensive?

With four different room categories, all providing luxurious amenities, the Henley Park Hotel’s value is exceptional. From cozy standard rooms to the grand Ambassador Suite, room rates average $203 a night. It’s worth noting that the junior suite here is more reasonably priced than a regular guest room at the Mayflower Renaissance Washington D.C. Hotel. Hotel parking is $38 a day though, on par with other properties in the area.

The Bottom Line?

Those tired of dull, “cookie cutter” accommodations will be delighted with the Henley Park Hotel. Its Old-World charm, modern amenities, and prime location make it the perfect choice for business and leisure travelers alike. If you are a light sleeper though, pick a room on a higher floor — while earplugs are provided and the neighborhood is quiet, there’s still some early morning traffic.
