Clean budget hotel in downtown Banff, Canada

When staying in Banff, most travelers want to get to as close to the downtown district as possible.  However, doing so means that more of your travel budget is spent on lodging.  This is where Bumpers Inn LTD comes to the rescue.  Located about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the main downtown strip, the Bumpers Inn offers rooms at half the rate of the other hotels in the town.

Travelers on a budget choose the Bumpers Inn so they can spend their money on souvenirs, sightseeing and skiing expeditions.  Speaking of which the inn is close to many of the sightseeing attractions, shops, entertainment venues and, of course, the slopes.  Within a few minutes’ drive you can explore the Banff National Park and Cave, Basin National Historic Site and visit the Banff Lake Tourism Bureau. Also close by are the Canada House Gallery and Canadian Ski Museum West.

Friendly and quiet staff

Reviewers raved about the staff at the Bumpers Inn.  The front desk is open 24 hours a day and the staff are always ready to help guests with anything they need including a smooth check-in and check-out.  The reviewers also commented how quiet the hotel is and credit the staff for the peace.

Bumpers Inn offers free parking as well as ski storage for those wanting to explore the slopes.  Pets are allowed in the inn for a small surcharge and guests can bring up to two pets.  There is no on-site restaurant or breakfast, but reviewers were fine with the coffee offered in the office and the grocery store three blocks away.

Cozy rooms with appliances

The rooms at Bumpers Inn are small and a little outdated, but the beds are firm, the shower has nice pressure and everything is extremely clean.  Reviewers said the rooms are better than what they had expected for the discount rate.

Unlike many hostel-style hotels in the area, Bumpers Inn includes a LCD TV, microwave and refrigerator in every room.  These appliances enables guests to buy groceries and prepare food in their room and, thus, save even more on their travel budget.

The bottom line

Bumpers Inn is a small, quiet hotel tucked a few minutes away from the bustle of the downtown district.  Its rates are much less than other hotels in the area due to its pushed back location and bare minimum amenities.  The rooms are small but cozy, equipped with appliances that similar hotels do not offer, and the staff is extremely friendly and always helpful.  Bumpers Inn is a great budget option within walking distance of the downtown area.
