Low cost and centrally located hotel in Downtown Banff

The Homestead Inn Banff is in the best hotel in Banff, Canada which is only one block away from the downtown’s shops, sightseeing and, of course, the skiing.  The inn is small so guests get a low rate for the outstanding location.

Homestead Inn is just two blocks away from Bow River, down the street from the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital, and across the street from the Banff Park Lodge Resort and Conference Center.  Dining and entertainment venues are only steps away from the inn.

Wide variety of hotel amenities

The Homestead Inn has a sister property, the 4 star Banff Park Lodge located across the street. Guests who stay at the inn receive a wide variety of free amenities at the Banff Park Lodge; just walk across the street to enjoy them.  Some of these amenities include an indoor pool and Jacuzzi, a eucalyptus steam room, fitness facilities, on-site shops and dining such as the Terrace Lounge and Chinook Restaurant.

At the Homestead Inn, guests under 15 stay free when accompanied by their families.  Pets are also allowed but there is a limit of two pets per room under 40 pounds each.  The inn offers dry cleaning and laundry services, airport transportation, front desk assistance and wireless internet.

Quaint budget rooms

The rooms are small and basic which the why the Homestead Inn is able to offer such a low rate in a prime location.  Each room contains a desk, television, beds with premium bedding, bathroom with a shower/tub, coffee and a refrigerator.  Wireless internet access is also available.

Reviewers didn't mind the small rooms, but they said the drawback to the Homestead Inn was the noise.  The inn has three floors and no elevators for the three floors so guests can hear people going up and down the stairs.  The Banff train tracks are nearby and the train's horn can be heard throughout the night.  Reviewers recommend staying on the third floor which is much quieter.

The bottom line

Homestead Inn is an excellent budget option for guests who want to be in the heart of downtown.  There are many sites only blocks away from the hotel as well as the shopping, dining, and skiing.  Guests can enjoy a variety of free amenities at the inn’s sister property, the Banff Park Lodge by walking across the street.  The rooms are small and a little noisy unless you are staying on the third floor, but the low rates provide travelers on a budget to enjoy the attractions in the downtown district.
