Some of the Most Spacious Rooms in Beijing

A Corporate Traveler’s Dream

The Hilton Beijing Wangfujing is perfectly suited to host large business events. Modern meeting facilities include video- and tele-conferencing and plasma televisions in all of the multi-purpose function rooms. There is an award-winning catering staff on-site. They will also work with you to cater a professional function off-property, even on the Great Wall of China if you want to dazzle your co-workers.

The hotel also features 24-hour room service. If you are in the mood for leaving the room but not the property, Vasco’s Restaurant provides a diverse menu featuring western favorites, as well as staples of Chinese cuisine. There is also a nail spa, sauna, pool, and fitness room on-site. The hotel staff is capable of performing currency exchanges on-site.

The Best Location in the City

The Hilton Beijing Wangfujing is within walking distance of the Forbidden City, the imperial palace of the Ming Dynasty. Visit the Palace Museum to learn more about this fascinating civilization. After you are done there, continue your cultural education by visiting Tiananmen Square, the fourth largest city square in the world. This cavernous open space is seven centuries old.

If shopping and entertainment are more your thing, visit Wangfujing Shopping Street. It is conveniently located just outside the hotel. This shopping community can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty, yet it is still thriving to this day. Enjoy one of the 280 shops, and then take time to get a snack from one of the countless food vendors.

Extremely Large Rooms Teeming with Amenities

Each room is a massive 538 square feet, making them some of the most spacious lodgings in Beijing. The minimum amenities include a 42-inch LCD television in bedroom, coffee and tea maker, USB dock, three phones, television in the bathroom, slippers, and two complimentary bottles of mineral water each day.

Guests who upgrade to suites reside in 764-square-foot dwellings that feature a separate lounge area. Complimentary gourmet tea and coffee and high-speed broadband internet access are also included.

The Bottom Line

If you are a traveler who needs your space, there are few hotels in Beijing that can match the Hilton Beijing Wangfujing with regards to room size. The Waldorf Astoria Beijing is one of the few other locations that can compete in this category, but it costs about 20 percent more on average. You get more bang for your buck with the Hilton Beijing Wangfujing.

Time Out
This sleek Hilton is tucked onto a side street near shopping street Wangfujing. The rooms feature modern design, with flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations, and rain showers.
Fodor's
The hotel opened in 2008 for the Olympics, and by now the rooms are showing the odd sign of wear and tear, but it's still a great option, especially for first-timers to the city.
Frommer's
This new hotel is an excellent addition to the city center: It's right beside the shopping paradise of Wangfujing... and within walking distance of the Forbidden City and Tian'an Men Square.
The breakfast spread is excellent, but avoid the in-house restaurants for lunch and dinner -- both serve disappointing, lackluster fare.
