Savoy Berlin Stands Out

What Do the Rooms Include?

The moment you walk in to the Savoy Berlin, you’ll be taken back to a time when understated simplicity was the norm. Yet when you stay here, you’ll feel thoroughly spoiled. The hotel is also steeped in history. Prominent literary greats, artists, and diplomats chose to stay here during their visits to Berlin. There are three types of rooms, ranging from Comfort Rooms that are about 20 square meters to Suites that may have up to two separate bedrooms. Rooms are nonsmoking so you can breathe easy.

What Amenities Are Available?

Enjoy a free newspaper daily so you can brush up on your German — or you can just chat with the multilingual staff about current events. Staff members speak Turkish, Russian, Italian, German, and English so you’re never left without a way to communicate. To keep on things, borrow an iPad and hop on the Internet. Relax as you sip on a complimentary bottle of mineral water.

What Are the Rates Like?

Prices per night are surprisingly cheap, with rates starting at $65 plus taxes and fees for comfort rooms and $110 for junior suites. The prices include complimentary Wi-Fi, use of iPads at the business center, a bottle of mineral water, and use of the hotel sauna. Rates are generally more affordable than other hotels in Berlin of the same caliber, such as the Hotel Bleibtreu Berlin, butthey slightly more expensive than more basic hotels in the area.

What’s the Bottom Line?

The Savoy Berlin is a bargain if you’re looking for a bit more comfort and a touch of elegance during your stay in Berlin. Its location on the west side of the Brandenburg Gate means it's somewhat removed from the hustle and bustle of the livelier east, but its proximity to major public transportation hubs provides guests easy access to all parts of the city.
