Cheap Rooms Near All of the Fun Things to do in Cannes

The L'Esterel is conveniently located across the street from the Gare de Cannes, the major train station stop for Cannes, and is steps away from Rue d'Antibes, home to quality shopping and quaint cafes. The hotel offers budget-friendly rooms in a hotel with vintage charm. Cannes itself is home to many interesting cultural attractions and historical sites, and the hotel is within easy walking distance of many of them. It's also a short walk to the beach from the hotel for a day spent playing in the sand.

Go Shopping, Enjoy Local Cuisine, and Play

Shopping on Rue d'Antibes is like no other. It plays host to the famous French name brands amongst others, but is also home to many local stores selling items that won't be found elsewhere. It's very easy to shop from one end of the street to the other and get a little exercise along the way.

The Promenade de la Croisette is the main roadway in Cannes and is where the Cannes Film Festival is held. Many cafes and restaurants are located here, offering the opportunity to sample unique dishes.

The beach is open to the public, and users can swim in the warm waters of the Mediterranean. Take a boat ride to one of the nearby isles to experience the local flora and fauna.

No-Frills Comfort

The hotel has rooms that come in Economy, Standard, Comfort Double or Comfort Triple. They can accommodate two to three people at a time. Rooms have air conditioning, satellite TV, in-room safes and free wi-fi internet access. Bathrooms are en-suite.

Breakfast is available on the rooftop terrace with views of Cannes, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Esterel Mountain creating a beautiful backdrop while eating.

The Bottom Line

The hotel is much nicer than its price lets on. It may be a budget-priced property, but the location is excellent and rooms are maintained nicely. All of the major landmarks of Cannes are within walking distance as well as being close to major transportation hubs. Perhaps the only drawback to the hotel is the fact the rooms are small, but this is a common issue with older hotels in general. The views of the surrounding city on the upper floors more than make up for the lack of space. Members of the hotel staff are welcoming, and most of them are bilingual.

Lonely Planet
This huge block couldn't be handier for the station, its 55 modern two-star rooms being spare, simple and unlikely to offend anyone's sensibilities. But breakfast overlooking the rooftops...
