Central Accommodations but a Bit Dated

Well-Priced but Dated

The Maldron Hotel Pearse Street used to be known as the Pearse Hotel but has changed its name. This hotel property on the east side of historic downtown Dublin provides access to the Book of Kells at Trinity College and Bord Gais Energy Theatre within a 10-minute walk. Room furnishings can seem a bit dated, but the hotel is well-priced for its location.

Family Stay is Best

If you need a room that's spacious enough for a family of four, is affordable, and is centrally located in Dublin, the Maldron Hotel Pearse Street is a good choice. All Twin and Family category rooms come with two queen-sized beds for comfortable sleeping for four persons. Free Wi-Fi and other typical hotel amenities such as an iron and board, a tea and coffee maker, a writing desk, a hairdryer, and a voicemail answering machine are standard in all rooms.

Not in the Center, but Close

Although the hotel is located on the east side of downtown closer to the docks, it is still fairly central. About 20 minutes away on foot, Dublin Castle and the center of the historic district may be a bit too far away if you have children along. However, there are plenty of attractions within walking distance, including the National Museum of Ireland (National History and Archaeology locations), the National Gallery of Ireland, the State Heraldic Museum, and the Grand Canal Theatre. With a quality public transportation system nearby, it is easy to get around Dublin from the Maldron Hotel Pearse Street.

Standard Fare

Families, individuals, and business travelers will find the Maldron Pearse Hotel adequate to meet most of their needs, including a fitness center, laundry facilities, fee-based self parking, a restaurant that serves daily breakfast, a business center, and a bar/lounge. With a conference center and meeting rooms as well as desks in rooms, business events can also be accommodated.

The Bottom Line

Visiting Dublin with a family can be expensive, especially when you want to stay downtown. This hotel provides an affordable option with spacious rooms. It is close enough for walking to many attractions while taking a short ride on public transportation to the rest. For business travelers, there are enough amenities to serve your needs, including meeting spaces and free Wi-Fi. A good location with value-priced clean rooms is the bottom line here.
