What Do the Rooms Include?

Located on what was once an ocean liner, making it one of the most unusual Long Beach hotels, The Queen Mary is permanently docked in Long Beach Harbor. The staterooms include authentic Art Deco built-ins right along with contemporary comforts like 32-inch LCD TVs, plush pillow-top mattresses, and hair dryers. Note that Inside Staterooms do not include windows, though other rooms include operable portholes.

What Amenities/Features Are Available?

Decor aboard The Queen Mary allows you to experience what it was like to cross the Atlantic back in the 1930s. The on-site fitness center features state-of-the-art equipment and is available 24 hours a day. The Queen Mary Spa offers services that include facials, massages, and nail care. You'll find many dining options on board including Chelsea Chowder House & Bar and Sir Winston's Restaurant & Lounge. For an authentic British tea service, head to The Tea Room where you can enjoy gourmet teas along with views of the harbor.

What Are the Room Rates at The Queen Mary?

Inside Staterooms start at $129/night for a room with two twin beds, while rooms with outside views run from $139 to $189/night. If you're looking to splurge, consider the full suite that starts at $430/night.

What Activities Are Popular Near The Queen Mary?

Long Beach Harbor puts you near all the action. The Aquarium of the Pacific features over 50 exhibits while the Pike at Long Beach has many attractions within it including a Ferris wheel and the Laugh Factory Comedy Club. Just a 30-minute drive away are both Knott's Berry Farm and Disneyland. If you're looking for a day trip, Catalina Island is just an hour away. Here you can kayak, snorkel, or just enjoy island life.

What Activities Are Available on The Queen Mary?

In addition to attractions nearby, you'll also find attractions right on board. On Sunday through Thursday nights, join the Paranormal Ship Walk where you'll learn about the Queen Mary's history and explore the haunted locations right on board. Each evening, you have the opportunity to join the Twilight Historical Tour, where you'll learn in-depth information about the ship, her construction and use during WWII, and what she was like in her glory days.

What’s the Bottom Line?

Many complain of the small rooms, but when do you have the opportunity to stay in something with so much history? It's definitely a unique opportunity, especially if you love stories about the Titanic, and it will be a memory that you will think of fondly for years to come. Most hotels are cookie-cutter. This is one hotel that provides a unique experience and allows you to feel like you've traveled back in time.

Expert Reviews
Docked for more than 40 years, the on-ship hotel attracts a mix of tourists and those attending events in the floating hotel's many party spaces.
Now moored and anchored to a dock at Long Beach Harbor since its last voyage in 1967, the ship is one of L.A.'s biggest tourist attractions and its most unique hotel.
Time Out
Unsurprisingly, given the boat's age (it was built in 1936), the guest cabins aren't huge. Still, that's hardly the point: they're handsome, historic and nicely maintained.
