Gracious, Spacious Comfort at Hotel Giraffe

What Does a Hotel Giraffe Room Include?

Hotel Giraffe has a retro feel, with black and white photos from the 20s and 30s, velveteen upholstered furniture in antique rose, and lofty 11-foot ceilings. Rooms include standard amenities such as a flat screen TV with premium cable and DVD player, iron and ironing board, and iHome mp3 dock. Stereo system with CD player, in-room safe, and honor bar are also standard.

What Amenities/Features Does the Hotel Giraffe Offer?

A complimentary continental breakfast including a selection of coffees, espressos, and teas starts your day, and a variety of refreshments are offered around the clock. Each evening you can attend a wine and cheese tasting, with live music on weeknights. Wi-Fi is complementary, and fitness-conscious guests receive free passes to any New York Sports Club. Special touches like evening turn down service, daily newspapers, and bottled water make your stay even more pleasant.

How Much Will a Stay at the Hotel Giraffe Cost?

Rooms start at about $280 and go up from there. Unlike many other New York hotels, there isn’t a lot of seasonal variation in price.

What Activities are Popular Near the Hotel Giraffe?

The Hotel Giraffe is a lazy stroll from popular tourist destinations like Gramercy Park and the Flatiron Building. Madison Square Park is right around the corner. If you’re up for a slightly longer walk, Union Square and Penn Station are only nine blocks away, while Macy’s, the New York Public Library, Times Square, and the United Nations are slightly farther.

What's the Bottom Line?

Hotel Giraffe is light, airy, comfortable, and extremely spacious. Its slightly retro vibe evokes an earlier era without feeling dated.

Expert Reviews
The decade-old Giraffe remains a consistent property with friendly service, large rooms, and lots of repeat customers, particularly business travelers.
Be sure to take time to relax at the open-air Rooftop Garden bar, which is open for drinks in the warmer months, although the garden is open year-round.
Time Out
Part of Library Hotel Collection, which also runs the Library Hotel and Hotel Elysée, the Giraffe confines references to the titular animal to tasteful artwork.
Glitzy boutique from the peeps behind the Library, Elysée, and Casablanca. Not cheap, rooms a tad tiny, but only seven to a floor so you won't feel trapped in a hive.
