Elegant Accommodation in the South of France

A privately owned palace no less, Hotel Le Negresco lies along the legendary Promenade des Anglais, overlooking the picturesque Bay of Angels. A rich history, stunning art collection, and quirky atmosphere make Le Negresco one of the most popular 5-star hotels in Nice. Guests enjoy access to the nearby Le Neptune Beach, where complimentary amenities, such as recliners, parasols, and towels, ensure you are comfortable while enjoying the sweeping views of the French Riviera.

Excellent Location Near Popular Attractions

The hotel’s location next to Massena Museum, where the attractions include sumptuous furnishings, fascinating architecture, and Napoleon memorabilia, places you within easy reach of an array of attractions. You might watch a performance at the open-air Theater de Verdure or take a ten minute walk into Nice Old Town, where bustling shopping squares, elegant Baroque churches, and a vibrant street market will both surprise and delight. The hotel’s concierge can recommend other must-see attractions and activities along the French Riviera.

Delicious Dining Options

Although you will be staying within easy reach of plentiful local restaurants, Hotel Le Negresco offers an array of on-site dining options. La Rotonde Brasserie, with its unconventional Carousel-themed decor that delights children and adults alike, opens for breakfast at 7 a.m. each morning. In the evening, head to the Michelin-starred Le Chantecler to enjoy traditional French cuisine, or attend a lively cocktail and jazz evening in Le Relais Brasserie.

Individually Styled Guest Rooms

Le Negresco's history is never clearer than when you are relaxing in one of the hotel’s 96 rooms or 21 suites. Each individually styled accommodation draws inspiration from different French art periods and features a range of amenities, such as a flat-panel TV, free Wi-Fi, complimentary newspapers, and minibar. In the private bathroom, you’ll find a deep soaking bathtub, designer toiletries, and bathrobes. In-room massages and childcare are available for a surcharge.

The Bottom Line

There are few more interesting places to stay in Nice than Hotel Le Negresco. Guest reviews are exceptionally positive, and tend to focus on owner Madame Auger’s art collection, the ostentatious decor, and the efficient service. A few issues that crop up from time to time are intermittent Wi-Fi service and the organic nature of room service; the varying service times can make it tricky to plan your days around it. These shouldn’t put you off staying at this one-of-a-kind hotel; the plus points outweigh these small matters.

Time Out
The secret to staying one ahead is learning how to grow old gracefully. That, at least, seems to be the philosophy that keeps... the Negresco a step ahead of the competition.
DK Eyewitness
The Negresco is the grande dame of Riviera hotels and has been a landmark on the promenade des Anglais since it opened in 1913, with a seemingly endless list of rich and famous guests.
