Affordable Lodgings in the Heart of Nice

The Villa Rivoli is a cozy little hotel nestled in the historic center of Nice. Reminiscent of the Belle Époque (Beautiful Era), this elegant hotel exudes an air of luxury while offering reasonable rates. Most of its 26 rooms offer a delightful view of the gardens and surrounding area. These rooms are light and airy, and they are individually decorated to suit every taste, a true home-away-from-home. With the beach, both private and public, and the Promenade des Anglais just a couple of minutes away, this hotel is a prime choice for visitors to this area.

Explore Nice by Train, Tram, Bus, or Foot

The Villa Rivoli is within walking distance of the pedestrian area of Nice, which offers a plethora of restaurants, bars, and boutiques. The nearby Gare de Nice Ville train station, as well as the highly efficient tram and bus service, makes it easy for visitors to this area to get around. There are many museums in Nice, such as the Museum Massena with its beautifully landscaped gardens; the Museum of Modern Art and Contemporary Art, which feature works by Andy Warhol and Tom Wesselmann; and the Matisse Museum, which is dedicated to the works of Henri Matisse.

Free Admission to Municipal Museums and Galleries

Enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast before heading out, then spend your day indulging in one of the many adventures available in Nice. Adventurous visitors can go whitewater rafting, kayaking, or gorge-walking in the Roya Valley. Spend a day exploring the Parc Floral Phoenix with its more than 20 themed gardens featuring about 2,500 plant species, and be delighted by sightings of iguanas, caimans, and a variety of birds.

Take advantage of the free admission offered by the municipal museums and galleries, and view impressive works of art by French artists such as Marc Chagall, Auguste Rodin, and Jules Cheret.

Rooms to Suit Every Budget

Each room at the Villa Rivoli comes well-equipped with a plasma television with satellite service, free wireless internet access, tea and coffee maker, air conditioning, climate control, telephone, and a bathroom with a shower. Rooms range in size from an economy single that sleeps one to a superior triple that accommodates up to three adults and two children. Many of these rooms have a private balcony.

The Bottom Line

With its proximity to the attractions of Nice, the Villa Rivoli is the ideal choice for your vacation stay. The location is ideal for anyone looking for a cultural visit to the area.

Expert Reviews
The younger and arguably prettier sister of the renowned Hôtel Villa La Tour, this boutique hotel has become a sought-after address since opening in 2007.
You'll find this Belle Époque hotel in the chic Quartier des Musiciens, excellently located a couple of blocks up from the beach but with very affordable prices.
Rough Guide
Sweet hotel in a belle époque building a short walk from the promenade des Anglais and beach, with refurbished, a/c en-suite rooms with pretty, traditional decor.
