What’s a Portland Pensione Room Include?

The rooms at the Portland Pensione look charmingly spartan with white walls, lovely dark hardwood floors, and some small piece of wall art. Each room comes with a bed, refrigerator, and microwave, which comes in handy if you want to reheat leftovers, or buy microwaveable meals to save on the cost of eating out. There is also a bathroom, curtains, climate controls, and a TV with cable.

The only extra amenities Portland Pensione offers are free wireless Internet and extra cots that are available upon request. 

What Are the Rates Like?

At the time of this writing, the Portland Pensione is one of the cheapest hotels around. It costs $50 per night for a basic room and $70 per night for a room with a kitchenette. There are other options only slightly more expensive, such as the Econo Lodge Expo Center at $52 per night, but you'd have to look hard to find something cheaper.

That being said, keep in mind there is a tax of 12.5% that will be applied when you check in, so actually be ready to pay about $56 per night. Of course, this tax applies to everyone, so the Portland Pensione is still among the cheapest options.
