Beautiful 16th Century Architecture and Gourmet Dining

Luxurious Botique Hotel

The Alchymist Grand Hotel and Spa is a luxurious, boutique hotel set inside of a classic baroque mansion dating back to the 16th century. The marvelous Dum u Jeziska structure sits on a cobblestone street and includes a stunning stone façade, arched entrance, and classic detailed scroll work. Inside, the hotel lobby features baroque-styled luxuries like towering ceilings, ornamental furniture, and elaborate drapes framing classical furnishings. Throughout the hotel you will find similar touches including hand-carved furniture, a spa, and gourmet restaurant featuring hand-made dishes.

Walk to the Prague Castle

The hotel sits just steps away from many of Prague's most popular attractions including the Prague Castle, the Charles Bridge, and St. Vitus Cathedral. It's also a short walk to the Historical Pharmacy Museum, Lennon Wall and Lobowicz Palace. Spend the afternoon sightseeing at any of these attractions, and then relax at a nearby café for coffee and a pastry. Find a lovely place to eat dinner; there's plenty of gourmet restaurants to choose from in the area. Or head back to the hotel and dine at the Aquarius Restaurant for hand-crafted pasta, seafood, and Mediterranean fare.

Relax Back at the Hotel After a Day of Sightseeing

There's plenty to do at the Alchymist Grand Hotel and Spa. Enjoy the classic décor as you relax and unwind after a long day. Sip a cocktail at the lobby bar, perhaps a famous cognac or brandy, after a delicious dinner at the on-site restaurant. Perhaps savor a Cuban cigar while you digest your meal. Spend at least one day pampering yourself in the Ecsotica Spa, complete with massage and beauty treatments for deeper relaxation. For a simpler pleasure, enjoy coffee, tea, or a pastry from the hotel's Barocco Veneziano Cafe.

Stay in the Imperial Suite

The rooms at the Alchymist offer extensive luxuries that include marble bathrooms, high ceilings, carved, wooden four-post beds with intricate gold scrolling, and Persian carpets. They are available in various sizes starting with the Deluxe rooms that offer a queen bed or two twins. The Alchymist Prague castle suites offer more room to relax with tuches like wooden ceilings. The Imperial Suite has two floors and courtyard views for the ultimate luxury experience.

The Bottom Line

If you want luxury, and are willing to pay a bit more, this hotel is for you. Incredibly convenient, you can walk to most of Prague's best attractions. The restaurant is Michelin reviewed, and the striking décor is well worth seeing.

Time Out
Prague's most decadent Habsburg days are still on tap at the Alchymist, with its antique furniture, frescoes, marble baths, ornately carved ceilings and sweeping, gauzy curtains.
Rough Guide
Total decadent luxury abounds in this sixteenthcentury palace which has been tastefully converted into a secluded spa hotel, complete with Indonesian masseuses and an indoor pool.
The Telegraph
With parts of the stunning Baroque villa dating back to medieval Prague — the stone-walled underground passages that now form a transcendent spa space — the hotel could well be a museum...
