Unique, Ancient Prague Hotel in 14th Century Building

Antique Charm and Modern Comfort

The Hotel Elite in Prague is an elegant, luxury hotel steeped in history. The hotel building dates back as far as the 14th century. In 2001, the hotel completed a 3-year renovation, and now offers modern rooms that still capture the building's original character. While the interior is fully updated with warm tones, modern appliances, and convenient layouts, unique characteristics like exposed beams, arching ceilings, and stone facades remain untouched. It makes for a uncommon stay in one of the oldest hotels in Prague.

Central to Prague Attractions and Cafés

Located in the center of the city, you are within ten minutes of the Old Town Square and Astronomical Clock. You are also minutes from the Tyn Cathedral and its unmistakable spire rooftop. The famous Charles Bridge is less than 20 minutes away by car. You are also surrounded by traditional cafés, music bars like the Reduta Jazz Club, and authentic Czech restaurants like Restaurace U Ceskych Panu. Walk outside of the hotel and find familiar and authentic cafés and bars within an easy 5-10 minute walk.

Explore the Lower Level for Bars and Music

At the Hotel Elite, enjoy a tasty Thai and Asian dinner in the Ultramarin restaurant located right on the ground floor. While you eat, listen to music and enjoy a cocktail in the club and bar located under the hotel. Relax during the day at the hotel's outdoor atrium where you can have an appetizer or refreshment. Then rejuvenate your tired muscles in the on-site spa with a traditional hot stone massage treatment, or deep tissue massage. Enjoy all of the modern ammenities of the hotel against the serene backdrop of authentic architecture.

Stay in the Suite for a Historical Treasure

The Hotel Elite provides cozy, unique rooms for travelers. Each includes the standard amenities like air conditioning, private bathrooms, and flat-screen TVs. Standard rooms are small and decorated with antique furniture from the 17th century. Deluxe rooms have more space, and offer views of the courtyard and city. For a truly genuine experience stay in the suite. The one-bedroom flat has a vaulted, painted ceiling dating to the 17th century that is a historical monument.

The Bottom Line

While the Hotel Elite lacks the finer touches of a true luxury hotel, it does offer the mystique of staying in an ancient building swathed in mystery and legend. It also provides comfortable rooms close to all the attractions without the lofty price tag of downtown hotels.

Time Out
The 14th-century building has been carefully renovated and retains many ancient architectural features; the suite is even protected by the Town Hall as a historical monument.
The Telegraph
Quirky cottage living within staggering distance of some of Prague's best bars. If you're not offended by the mustard palate of the interiors or oddly-shaped rooms, then you should be...
