Cheap Accommodation Not Far From the Center

Relax in the Lobby Bar

The Three Crowns Hotel is a family run hotel in the Prague 3 district. Prague is one of the only medieval cities that remained almost entirely intact after World War II, and is rich in history, architecture, cobblestone streets, cafés, and cheap beer. This independent accommodation offers complimentary breakfast with a selection of hot and cold foods. Sample Czech specialties and International cuisine at the hotel's restaurant, then relax with a cocktail at the lobby bar which features a comfortable atmosphere with a fireplace.

Upgrade to a Superior Room

The bright and spacious rooms have modern decor and nice bathrooms. Each one has a satellite TV and free WiFi so you can stay in touch, and rooms on the top floor have a skylight. Sometimes the street can get a bit noisy, so request a room at the back if you’re a light sleeper. Guests say upgrading to a superior room is “definitely worth it.”

Try a Beer Spa

The hotel is located in Prague 3, an up an coming area with much to see and do, with many typical local pubs nearby. You can walk to the National Monument - a giant statue of Jan Žižka, the tallest structure in Prague - the Žižkov Tower, or the Military Museum.  The center is reachable by a short tram ride or a 20-30 minute walk, where you can visit the Prague Castle the Old Town, and walk over the Charles Bridge — but try to avoid Karlova Street, which is a major tourist trap.

Head to one of Prague’s famed beer gardens to while away an afternoon or evening Czech-style. Riegrovy Sady and Letna Park are popular spots with a casual atmosphere, food stands with sausages, and an endless supply of freshy-pulled Czech beer. Alternatively, head to a beer spa and bathe in the natural ingredients use to brew beer. Beer bathing has been done since the Middle Ages, when they proved the benefits of releasing vitamin, carbohydrates, and proteins. The tubs come with tabs for continual drinking during your soak.

The Bottom Line

A stay at the Three Crowns is “excellent value for money,” according to guests, although it is a bit far from the main tourist sites. The area itself is easy to navigate and the friendly and helpful staff give you a tourist map with all the sites and transportation info upon check in. Overall, guests say “we will for sure stay there again.”
