Ace Hotel Seattle — A Chic Stay in Seattle, WA

The cluster of properties that make up Ace Hotel’s mini-chain of boutiques all over the world started with this flagship hotel in Seattle, WA perched atop a hill overlooking the Puget Sound. Housed in the hip and youthful neighborhood of Belltown, Ace Hotel feels more like your chic 20-or-30-something cousin’s lofty apartment than a hotel, embracing the outdoorsy and unpretentious Pacific Northwest style of its surroundings.

What Do the Rooms Include?

Visitors can opt for the more affordable Standard Shared Bath rooms, which offer low-platform beds, a sink, vanity, cable, phone, and minibar. Shared bathrooms are located down the hall. Or, splurge for the Deluxe Room, including full, king or queen beds, private bathrooms, and views to boot.

What Amenities Does the Ace Hotel Offer?

It may be a no-frills hotel, but the Ace offers just the right amenities for optimal comfort. It’s eco-friendly in its choice to utilize vintage and repurposed furniture. We dare you not to experience furniture-envy. A very decent gratis breakfast including basic staples like fruit, coffee, and cereal is available daily, or try the lunch and dinner food (including late night dining) at the Cyclops Café and Panther Room bar downstairs from the hotel. Free Wi-Fi and cable TV is included, and pets are welcome.

What are the Rates Like?

In spite of the hotels’ clean amenities, stylish decor, and comfortable accommodations, Ace Hotel is a very reasonable option compared to other hotels in Seattle. Standard Rooms average at about $109 a night, and Deluxe Rooms ring in around $199 a night.

What’s There to Do Nearby?

Situated along the waterfront of Belltown, Ace Hotel is in a prime location of the city, and within walking distance to Pike’s Public Market. The historic neighborhood, once bustling with maritime workers, now fills its brick-lined buildings with art galleries, buzzed-about restaurants, and nightclubs. The Olympic Sculpture Park, Experience Music Project Museum, and Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum are also accessible within a 15-minute walking distance.

What’s the Bottom Line?

If you’re up for skipping the cookie-cutter hotel chains and more luxurious amenities for a modern, stylish hotel with just the amenities you’ll need, Ace is the place for you.  It’s a bit cramped for families, but a great locale for individual travelers and couples.

Expert Reviews
Like its sister properties in Palm Springs, Portland, and New York, the 28 ultrahip rooms at Seattle's Ace exemplify high design on a small budget.
This petite 28-room boutique in Belltown was the first hotel of the hipster-friendly Ace Hotels mini-chain, and it was designed with young, hip budget travelers in mind.
Located in the trendy Belltown district, this building started life as a hotel for maritime workers in 1909. Following an ace transformation, it now has the vibe of an artist's loft.
