Cozy Atmosphere and More Await at Hotel Hellsten

What Do the Rooms Include?

You never know what you will get at Stockholm’s Hotel Hellsten – and we mean that in the most enchanting way possible. Each of the 78 rooms in the 19th century building are outfitted with their own style, colors, and design. Guests may find anything from cozy wooden wall panels to exposed brick and wooden beams to mirrored doors to porcelain stoves to fireplaces to canopy beds, all set against bright and bold colors to create an esthetically pleasing and warming room. Bathrooms all feature Karystos stone brought in from the Greek Island of Evia, and have heated floors and towel racks. Every room includes a flat screen television, free broadband, and Wi-Fi. Some of the rooms even feature balconies and bathtubs.

What Amenities are Available?

The colonial-themed Hellsten Earth Bar, which features a glass-enclosed breakfast area, is one of the hotel’s top amenities. Every morning, guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast buffet here, surrounded by artifacts from around the world. Other amenities at this gorgeous hotel include free newspapers, as well as a small fitness center and sauna.

What Are the Rates Like?

Rates for Hotel Hellsten vary by almost $100, depending on when you want to go. They can be less than $100 a night if you book during the week.

What’s There to Do Nearby?

Located on a quiet street, the Hotel Hellsten is only a block away from the underground transit system. For a taste of traditional Swedish food (and to get a look at the hopping culinary scene in town), head out and explore the more than 50 restaurants located nearby. Of course, there is far more to Stockholm than just the food. The hotel is also walking distance to the Stockholm Observatory Museum, the Strindberg Museum and Tegnerlunden Park. Also close by is Odenplan Square, Hotogret Square and the Hotorgshallen Food Market.

What’s the Bottom Line?

Built in the late 1800s, Hotel Hellsten is as gorgeous as it is charming and historic. Rates are very reasonable and its location nearby most of the action in Stockholm, makes it a fantastic find.
