Hotel de Glace: The Only Hotel in North America Made of Ice

What Does a Hotel de Glace Room Include?

Each room is carved out of ice, and the temperature stays below freezing for obvious reasons. These rooms feature a bed and thermal sleeping bag rated for the cold temperatures — be brave and actually stay the night! You also get access to several outdoor hot tubs to warm up, and curtains give you some privacy in your bedrooms. You'll have plenty of opportunities to see the carved ice in all their splendor.

What Amenities/Features does the Hotel de Glace Offer?

This is the only Hotel de Glace ("Hotel of Ice") in North America, and it's only open in January, February, and March. Look to the lounges and bar for a chance to enjoy some winter-themed cocktails. Don't forget about the ice slide, chapel, and chairs carved out of ice.

How Much Will a Stay at Hotel de Glace Cost?

Some packages start at around $220 per person (not per room). Like many places, it costs more on the weekends (about $60 extra), and fancier rooms with more offerings can cost up to $450 per person.

What activities are popular near Hotel de Glace?

During the winter, all eyes are on the ice carvings. You're at the base of the Laurentian Mountains, so enjoy the mountain view as well!

What’s the Bottom Line?

Of all the hotels in Quebec, only one is made of ice, and it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you choose to stay the night instead of simply going on the grand tour, follow the instructions of the staff to enjoy your stay safely!
