To get the best deal, the time to buy for Labor Day Weekend is coming up fast. Hipmunk analyzed historical data and found that travelers who have not yet booked their Labor Day plans, should book the week of August 6 (that’s next week, friends) to save 11 percent on flights.

TOP FIVE HOT SPOTS
The top five destinations are spread across the country, and represent five wildly different ways to close out your summer. Take your pick from the casinos and shows in Vegas, the culture and cuisine of New York City, the beaches and nightlife of Miami, the music and history of New Orleans, or the boardwalks and golf courses of Myrtle Beach.
HOTTEST STATE
If you’re thinking of heading to the West Coast, you’re in good company. The top 50 list also includes ten destinations in California—from San Francisco, to Napa, to Palm Springs, to Anaheim, to the tiny beach town of San Simeon where you can see some impressive elephant seals, or visit Hearst Castle.
LOWEST HOTEL DEALS
If you’re looking for a deal in the Midwest, Minneapolis tops the list with the lowest average price per night for a hotel on Labor Day weekend at $98/night. If you’d rather round out your vacation with a dose of history, Williamsburg, VA hotels will set you back just $102/night on average for the weekend.

For hotel trending cities: Hipmunk analyzed hotel bookings made during Jan. 1, 2018 – July 26, 2018, to reveal top trending destinations for Labor Day Weekend (checking in Aug. 30 – Sept. 2 and checking out Sept. 3-4, 2018). Price was determined by average price per night, for bookings in those cities.
For when to buy flight data: Hipmunk analyzed its historical data for median weekly prices for the top 50 DMAs (both departing and returning) departing on the Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday of Labor Day weekend and returning on Labor Day (Monday) or the day after (Tuesday).
